What a busy day in Piglets we've had! This morning the Piglets enjoyed exploring the car wash tuff tray, the Piglets pushed the cars through the mud, then through the soap and finally through the water. The Piglets used the paintbrushes to brush all the mud of the wheels this encouraged the Piglets to talk about when/if they'd been through the car wash with their friends and family.
Other activities we've enjoyed today has included painting with different patterned rollers, joining in with tumble tots after lunch, building sandcastles in the garden and balancing on the balance beams.
For snack we had cocktail sausages (alternative: breadstick) with red pepper and tzaitki dip (alternative: dairy free garlic and herb soft cheese) with a cup of milk, water or oat milk.
We've had a busy day in Tiggers today, this morning we made some playdough. We poured and measured the ingredients into a bowl and used some measuring spoons for the oil. The Tiggers chose to make a pink playdough and added a vanilla scent to the dough. Once we had created a dough we used our hands to knead it all together. We had a great time rolling out the playdough and using the different shaped cutters.
Other activities we have been exploring today have included tap a shape we used different shapes to create different pictures and tapped the pins carefully in the boards, this activity was great for developing our fine motor skills.
For snack today we had sliced pepper and cocktail sausages with a selection of dips. The alternative to the sausages was breadsticks, we also had a cup of milk or water with snack.
Today in Piglets we've been busy practising our gross motor skills in the garden. The Piglets balanced on the beams they learnt that putting their hands out to the side helped them to balance better, they've been climbing onto and walking on the crates and using their legs to push themself around the garden on the bikes.
Other activities we've enjoyed today have been peeling off stickers to decorate our pictures, singing nursery rhymes, building with mobilo and using cotton wool to stick onto our sheep pictures.
For snack we had a rich tea finger and dried apricots with a cup of milk, water or oat milk.
It's been a great day in Tiggers today, we helped to build an obstacle course in the garden. The children took it in turns to complete the obstacles including climbing on the crates, balancing on the beams and jumping on the musical spots. Some of the children stretched their arms out wide to help them balance, this activity was a great way to support developing our gross motor skills.
Other activities we have loved exploring today included small world farm role play. Drawing daffodils on our chalkboards and bug hunting in the garden, we found lots of snails and wiggly worms. 🐌
For snack today we had sliced apricot and a malted milk biscuit, we also had a cup of milk or water with snack.
Today the Piglets have been celebrating Red Nose Day, this morning during circle time we talked about why we celebrate it and how we can raise money for less fortunate children around the world 🗺. The Piglets enjoyed practising their finger muscles and fine motor skills when decorating paper plates to make them into red noses. They used red wool, red sequins, red pipe cleaners and googly eyes. This afternoon the Piglets enjoyed colouring in different colouring pages and tipping and pouring with the red rice.
Other activities we've enjoyed today have been ponies small world, riding on the scuttle bug bikes in the garden, building models with poly m, playing the colours in the environment game and using the body boards to move around the garden.
For snack we had cocktail sausages (alternative: vegetable straws) with orange slices and carrot batons with a cup of milk, water or oat milk.
